Brazilian pro-surfer, Marina Werneck, leaves her natural ocean habitat behind and escapes to the forest river's in this sensual, abstract and raw short film.

In collaboration with lifestyle and water photographer Ju Martins, the idea behind 'Gypsea Woods' bloomed from an innate desire to escape the mundane.  After years of filming and photographing surfer's under the harsh sun doing what they do best, we decided it was time to shake things up. We wanted to capture surfer's in a different light and away from their natural ocean habitats. So our salty souls left the coast and traveled deep within the Brazilian jungle of Rio de Janeiro, where Marina was able to leave her boards and sponsors behind and reconnect with her Native-American heritage.
